Notches T6 finish in Hartford McIlroy finished in a share of sixth place after shooting a five-under 65 in the final round of the Travelers Championship. Impact The top two ranked players in the OWGR finished the week tied at 12-under-par in a share of sixth. Both Scottie Scheffler and McIlroy had one round that doomed them, and for the Northern Irishman it came in round two. It was breezy on Friday, but you can't come out with bogeys on three of your first four holes when you're in the mix and expect to stay in the hunt. McIlroy was just 36th in SG: Off-the-Tee, as he really struggled to keep the ball in the short grass. The good news was that he putted beautifully gaining nearly seven shots on the field, the second-best mark in the field. After winning the first signature event of the season in Pebble Beach, you thought McIlroy might find another but it wasn't to be. That said, he's not complaining about his win at THE PLAYERS or The Masters. This T6 seems to stop the bleeding after a rough couple months. McIlroy will look to put his best foot forward at the Open Championship next month.
